Bernard (Frédéric Dussin), lawyer, and Jacqueline (Anne-Marie Medaglia), dentist, have been married for many years, each practicing their profession at home.
When they decide to divorce, a major difficulty arises: neither of them wants to leave the apartment or move their office. They therefore share the living room, symbolically separated by a ribbon stretched across the sofa, which has become the demarcation line.
Victor (Pierre-Antoine Saussays), their butler, both witness, referee and assistant sometimes of one, sometimes of the other, observes this improbable cohabitation, soon upset by the arrival of their new partners; Bubble (Clémence Kluthausen) and Robert (Vicent Forel).
