Located at the foot of the Col de la Colombière, in the heart of the Aravis Mountains, the Gîte du Passant enjoys a prime location near Annecy, Geneva, Chamonix, La Clusaz, and Le Grand-Bornand.
Open year-round, the Gîte du Passant welcomes groups in every season, for both private and professional events.

Handicap moteur
Even though the building does not meet current standards, the owners have already been able to accommodate people with disabilities, including those in wheelchairs.
To do so, the person must either be able to get out of their wheelchair to navigate the various steps in the unit or be able to be carried.
Similarly, the owners can pick up guests at the parking lot in an SUV or on a snowmobile. A drop-off zone can be set up right at the building’s entrance, but the road—which is quite bumpy—will be open only to 4x4s.
For those who prefer to walk, a parking lot is located a 10-minute walk from the residence. The path is sloped and involves a small elevation change.
Access for people with disabilities is via a secondary entrance, directly on the first floor. There is a 16-centimeter step followed by a threshold to cross to enter the building.
The owners, who live nearby, will be available to assist with any needs.
The building is laid out as follows:
- In the basement (at garden level): a double bedroom with space for an extra bed. There is a threshold to access the bedroom (see photos).
- On the ground floor: an 11-centimeter step at the entrance to the cottage, followed by a 10-centimeter threshold. A perforated gate is located in front of the entrance door, but the holes are less than 2 centimeters in diameter.

The floor features 3 showers, 3 sinks, and 2 toilets.
A common room is also available for guests to use as a coatroom, game room, etc.
On the ground floor, there is one step between each room.
- Between the ground floor and the first floor, 12 steps separate the two floors. The staircase is rather narrow, but there is a handrail (see photos).
- On the first floor:
2 connecting dorms, each with 8 single beds: accessed via a single step.
1 bedroom with a small 5-centimeter threshold, containing 2 double beds and a crib.
1 bedroom with no threshold or steps, containing 4 double beds.
1 bedroom with one double bed and two single beds: there is one step at the entrance.
1 men’s bathroom and 1 women’s bathroom without thresholds, each equipped with showers that have 2-centimeter thresholds.
There is one shower that meets accessibility standards.

- A staircase with 14 steps separates the first and second floors.
