Oh the places you’ll go… as you discover or re-discover hiking! The many designated trails of the region are missing only you… whether full-day or half-day, head-spinning or family-friendly, through lakes or Alpine pastures, there’s something here for everyone !

Be careful, while the mountain is accessible to everyone, never begin your hike without first observing certain instructions:

  • Start out early
  • Never set off alone, especially not in winter
  • Be well informed regarding weather conditions and the existence of hazard zones or restricted areas
  • Respect the flora and fauna already weakened by winter
  • Keep your dog on a leash
  • Take your rubbish with you

These 25 highly-detailed profiles include a zoomed-in map of the hike in question, explanations of the characteristics of the trail and the directions to follow, useful tips…

RACES, FOR THE COMPETITIVE

Hiking is no longer enough for you? Tempted by the desire to measure yourself against others?  Register for one of the races that take place in our region every year!

  • The Trail of the Bearded Vulture, every year in early June, offers thrill seekers a variety of routes.
  • The Cenise-Bargy to Mont-Saxonnex, in July, varies the nature of its ordeals: competitors move from road cycling to running to mountain biking.
  • The Almette Pedestrian Race in the commune of Le Reposoir, in August, allows both runners and walkers to stretch their legs on a circuit of approximately 15 kilometres.

In the form of a treasure hunt or orienteering task through our villages, walking becomes a game for both big and small!

  • “The Borli’s Evil Spells” treasure hunt in Le Reposoir – Ages 6 and up – €8 at the Le Reposoir Tourist Office – Use magic to thwart the Borli’s enchantments! Rescue the Marquise Alessandra, find the Crystal Weapon and save the Valley of Béol. But watch out, the Borli is on the prowl – and he’s watching you!
  • “The Estampôyu and the Princess of the Bargy” treasure hunt in Mont-Saxonnex – Ages 6 and up – €8 at the reception centres of the Cluses Arve et Montagnes Tourist Office (Cluses, Mont-Saxonnex, Reposoir and Nancy-sur-Cluses) – Share a unique adventure with your family: all along the route mingle mysteries, riddles and quests for clues.  Free the princess of the Bargy and save the village from the horrible Estampôyu. Emotions guaranteed!
  • Orienteering Route in Romme, Nancy-sur-Cluses – Ages 7 to 12 – €2 at the Nancy-sur-Cluses Tourist Information Office
