Cultural heritage

The Cluses Arve & Montagnes Communauté de Communes is rich with an agricultural heritage dating from the Middle Ages, while its clockmaking industry appeared in the 18th century, and its bar-tuning industry in the early 20th  century. Our diverse region stretches from plains to high mountains. Its natural and cultural landscapes shaped by man differ according to altitude and offer qualities appreciated by both tourists and residents, whether they be permanent or seasonal. This diversity of the countryside is also closely linked to practices and skills that have spanned the centuries: the shepherding of flocks through the mountain pastures, the making of reblochon cheese or Magland sausage…
