Cluses - European Heritage Days

Description

Discover Cluses’ rich heritage during the 2026 European Heritage Days: guided tours, exhibitions, lectures, creative workshops, musical performances, and a photo contest throughout the weekend in Cluses!
To celebrate European Heritage Days 2026, the City of Cluses invites you to explore its history, architecture, and exceptional craftsmanship! Come spend an entire weekend (re)discovering Cluses’ heritage in all its facets. From the iconic watchmaking tradition to the secrets of museum conservation, along with students’ creative take on brownfield sites and unique artistic events, the city reveals itself in a fascinating light that’s accessible to everyone. Highlights of the event: - Exclusive tours and behind-the-scenes experiences: Go behind the scenes at iconic or lesser-known sites such as the Lycée Charles Poncet (formerly the Royal School of Watchmaking), the Banque de France, and the city’s archive repositories. - Workshops & Creativity: Try your hand at artistic and technical skills for ages 7 and up (an introduction to cyanotype printing, making souvenirs, and a behind-the-scenes look at heritage restoration). - Social and Cultural Experiences: Let yourself be swept away by fascinating lectures, musical interludes, a dance performance on the Pont-Vieux, and a local photo contest open to everyone. Whether you’re a history buff, simply curious, or visiting with family or friends, join us to celebrate the richness of our region!
