Bike workshop

26 avenue Georges Clémenceau
74300 Cluses

Description

The workshop enables everyone to use and maintain their bicycles at a lower cost, thereby promoting their independence and freedom.
This activity follows on from a project of the Local Development Contract, a structure dependent on the region and which ceased to operate at the end of 2015. Its first interventions took place in schools during cycling activities, complementing the action of municipal animators, with an educational approach to explain how a bike works and technical help by checking the condition of children's bikes - and adjusting them if necessary. Four members of the workshop are currently authorized to accompany schoolchildren on their cycling outings. The workshop also takes part in one-off events such as the R'Biolly, and in activities organized by the Cluses commune. The workshop has basic equipment and a few bikes in varying condition. The primary aim of the workshop is to enable everyone to use and maintain their bicycles at a lower cost, thereby promoting their autonomy and freedom. In all equality and fraternity! The workshop meets twice a month at the UP Cluses premises, providing technical assistance to local residents. The workshop also operates by appointment.
